The design of Pinna Olive Oils bottles is characterized by its minimal and clean appearance. The white bottle serves as a canvas for the carefully selected colors and elements on the label, creating a high contrast that immediately catches the eye. This simplicity allows the brand's values to shine through, emphasizing the importance of the product itself.
One of the key features of this design is the use of sleeve technology. The label and bottle are seamlessly integrated, creating a unified visual experience. The sleeve technology offers flexibility in design and ensures high-quality prints, resulting in vibrant colors and sharp details that enhance the overall aesthetic.
The technical specifications of the label are as follows: 88.65 mm x 56.40 mm x 176.00 mm. The label completely covers the "Moresca" type bottle, which is specifically designed for products like oil and vinegar. The Moresca bottle has a square shape and a glass-green color, adding to the overall visual appeal.
The design team behind Pinna Olive Oils includes art director Giovanni Murgia, graphic designer Viola Orgiano, and 3D artist Max Turrini. Their collaboration and expertise have brought this design to life, capturing the essence of the Fratelli Pinna brand.
The design of Pinna Olive Oils bottles aims to create a contemporary and appealing visual representation of the brand's vision. It successfully combines the values of innovation with a deep connection to the land, creating a harmonious balance. This design is a testament to the brand's commitment to quality and tradition.
The project started in Sassari in October 2022 and was completed in February 2023. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted on the works of Eugenio Tavolara, particularly his approach to craftsmanship and its relation to Sardinian identity. The labels feature illustrations depicting bucolic scenes of olive harvesting, forming a continuous line that extends from one label to the next. This visual metaphor represents the continuity and collectibility of the bottles as a single set within the scene.
The design of Pinna Olive Oils bottles presented several challenges. The team had to rejuvenate the brand's image without compromising its core values, such as the importance of family and the land. The design had to strike a delicate balance between contemporary minimalism and a strong identity-driven approach. The result is a design that seamlessly blends tradition and innovation.
The design for Pinna Olive Oils bottles has received recognition for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2023, a prestigious accolade that celebrates designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology. This award recognizes the team's strong technical and creative skills and their contribution to improving the quality of life.
